We focus on the fundamental kinetics and reaction chemistry
to get a deeper insight into the mechanism of the
thermochemical conversion of lignocellulosic biomass and
other solid fuels and
to aid the development of lignocellulosic biomass utilization
processes. There are strong incentives to develop the production of
fuels and chemicals from thermochemical conversion of
lignocellulosic biomass. Research focused on the kinetics and
reaction chemistry will permit a better understanding and
controlling biomass thermochemical conversion processes.
